Signing in to Vantage Markets from Malaysia
Two doors, not one: the client portal takes your registration email, the MetaTrader terminal takes a numeric account number. Mixing them up is the most common reason a Malaysian trader thinks the password is wrong.
Open an FxPro account →Vantage Markets uses two separate sign-ins. The client portal at secure.vantagemarketsea.com takes your registration email and password and holds documents, deposits and withdrawals. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 take a numeric trading-account number, its own trading password and a server name, all three read from the portal. A forgotten portal password is reset from the portal; a forgotten trading password is reissued for that account number.
Before you touch either sign-in
Three things decide whether the next ten minutes go smoothly. The email address used at registration must still be reachable, because verification codes go there. The account must have cleared document checks — trading credentials are not issued before that. And you need to know which of the two systems you are actually trying to reach, because they do not share a password. A Malaysian trader who registers in the evening and installs the terminal the same night usually hits this once, then never again.
- Open the client portal from the Login link on the brand's regional site vantagemarketsea.com.
- Sign in with the email address used at registration, not with the MT4 or MT5 account number.
- Inside the portal, open the trading account list to read the account number and the server name.
- Enter that number, its trading password and the server into MT4 or MT5 to connect the terminal.
If you are locked out right now
Work out which door is shut before resetting anything. If the client portal rejects you, reset from the portal itself. If the portal opens but MetaTrader refuses the connection, the portal password is fine and the problem is one of three terminal values — the account number, the trading password or the server name. Resetting the portal password in that situation changes nothing and costs you the attempt.
For anything a reset cannot fix, the broker publishes [email protected] and advertises support as 24/7 and multilingual. Treat that as coverage of the channel rather than a promise about a particular case: how long a reset or an unlock actually takes is not published by the broker and has not been measured by this site.
Two sign-ins, and which one takes your email
Vantage Markets runs two separate systems and only one of them accepts an email address. The client portal at secure.vantagemarketsea.com opens with the email used at registration; it holds documents, deposits, withdrawals and the list of trading accounts. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 never accept an email address at all.
This is the most common reason a working password appears to fail. Nothing is wrong with the credential — it is being typed into the wrong system. The portal is the administrative side of the account; the terminal is the execution side, and they were never linked by one login.
Reading the account number and server from the portal
MetaTrader asks for three values, and all three are printed inside the portal: the numeric trading-account number, the trading password issued with that account, and the exact server name.
Open the portal, go to the list of trading accounts, and read the row for the account you want to connect. The number identifies the account, the server identifies which of the broker's servers holds it, and the trading password is separate from the one that just let you into the portal. A correct number and password against the wrong server produce the same failure as a wrong password, which is why the server line is worth copying rather than guessing.
Passwords, read-only access and resets
Each trading account carries two passwords with different powers. The trading password can open and close positions. The investor password is read-only: it shows balance, open positions and history but cannot place an order.
That second password is the one to hand to anyone reviewing your results — an account manager, an analyst, a family member checking on a position. Sharing the trading password gives away control of the account; sharing the investor password gives away only the view.
The portal password and the trading password have separate reset paths, and changing one does not touch the other. Deciding which is broken before you reset saves an attempt, and on a locked account attempts matter.
Reaching the account outside market hours
The portal answers around the clock and the terminal will connect around the clock, but a connected terminal is not an open market. The forex week runs from roughly 05:00 on Monday to roughly 05:00 on Saturday Malaysian time.
Malaysia sits at UTC+8 all year with no daylight saving. The United States does change its clocks, so twice a year that Monday open and Saturday close shift by an hour against your local time even though nothing in Malaysia moved. A position left open across the weekend cannot be closed in that gap, no matter which of the two sign-ins you can reach — worth knowing before Friday evening rather than after it.
The terminal itself is documented independently — MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 — and behaves the same way at every broker that offers it, which is why the credentials, not the software, are what differ here.
Which value goes into which system
| Field | Client portal | MetaTrader 4 / 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Email used at registration | Yes — this is the login | Not accepted |
| Trading-account number | Shown in the account list | Required |
| Trading password | Issued and reset here | Required |
| Server name | Shown next to the account | Required |
| Investor (read-only) password | Issued here | Optional, view only |
Three of the five values are required by the terminal and all of them are read from the portal. Checked against the broker's published login flow on 15 September 2026.
Trading week in Malaysian time (MYT, UTC+8)
| Moment | Local time | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Week opens | About 05:00 on Monday | Shifts by 1 hour when US clocks change |
| London and New York overlap | About 20:00 to 00:00 | Busiest hours for major forex pairs |
| Week closes | About 05:00 on Saturday | Positions stay open across the weekend gap |
| Client portal | 24 hours | Reachable whether or not the market is open |
Malaysia observes no daylight saving, so the 1 hour shift comes from the other side of the pair.
