MetaTrader 5 (MT5) · Malaysia
MetaTrader 5 is the multi-asset successor to MT4; hedging, Expert Advisors and signals are platform features documented by MetaQuotes independently of any broker.
Open an FxPro account →MetaTrader 5 at Vantage Markets is the multi-asset terminal: Expert Advisors, signals and position hedging are enabled, and it reaches the same 1,000+ CFD products across forex, indices, commodities, shares, ETFs and bonds. It connects to all 5 account lines, so the entry deposit the broker publishes is $50 on four of them and $10,000 on PRO ECN — account terms read on 15 September 2026.
MetaTrader 5 (MT5) at Vantage Markets
- MT5 covers the same 1,000+ CFD products the broker publishes across forex, indices, commodities, shares, ETFs and bonds.
- Hedging is available on MT5, which MT4 accounts handle differently.
- The same 5 account lines feed MT5, so the published entry deposit is $50 on four of them and $10,000 on PRO ECN (broker's account terms, read 15 September 2026).
- Malaysia is UTC+8 with no daylight saving, so the Kuala Lumpur working day sits outside the London and New York overlap that moves major forex pairs.

Pricing in this table is the broker’s own published account terms, read on 15 September 2026, and not a measurement by this site; spreads are variable. Choose a platform by what you trade and your device — all of them connect to the same account, and the account line sets the price.

Open an FxPro account →What MT5 adds over MT4
MetaTrader 5 is the multi-asset successor to MetaTrader 4. At Vantage Markets it comes with automated strategies, trading signals and, decisively, the ability to hedge positions.
What it does not add is a better price. The account line still decides that, and the broker publishes the terms on its own account pages, read on 15 September 2026: from 1.0 pips with $0 commission on Standard STP, from 0.0 pips plus $3.00 per standard lot per side on RAW ECN, and $1.50 per lot per side on PRO ECN after a $10,000 deposit. Spreads are variable and these are published starting points, not measured figures. Margin call at 50% and stop out at 20% on RAW ECN and Standard STP are unchanged by the terminal too. A trader moving to MT5 expecting cheaper trading is moving for the wrong reason.
MetaTrader 5 is documented independently of any broker, and the hedging behaviour described there is a property of the platform rather than of this brand.
The asset classes MT5 reaches
The broker publishes 1,000+ CFD products across six asset classes: forex, indices, commodities, shares CFDs, ETFs and bonds. MT5 was designed for exactly that spread of instruments, where MT4 was built around forex.
The terminal does not create instruments, though. Whatever the broker does not list is not reachable from any platform, so the product list is the ceiling and MT5 simply handles more of it comfortably. All five account lines connect to it, which means the entry deposit the broker publishes — $50 on four lines and $10,000 on PRO ECN, read on 15 September 2026 — applies regardless of which terminal you install.
Every one of those classes is traded here as a CFD, which is a leveraged contract rather than ownership of the underlying asset.
Hedging, and why an MT4 strategy file will not run here
Hedging — holding opposing positions on the same instrument in one account — is available on MT5 and handled differently on MT4. If a strategy depends on it, that single difference settles the choice of terminal on its own.
The cost of moving is automation. MT4 uses MQL4 and MT5 uses MQL5, and they are not compatible: an automated strategy has to be rewritten or replaced, not copied across. Traders who plan the migration as a file copy discover this after the account is already open.
So the honest rule is narrow. Need hedging or the wider asset classes, take MT5. Running a working MQL4 strategy you do not want to rebuild, stay on MetaTrader 4. Anything else is a preference, not a decision.
Six asset classes reachable from MT5
| Asset class | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Forex | Currency pairs, the class MT4 was originally designed around |
| Indices | Index CFDs across major markets |
| Commodities | Metals, energy and soft commodities |
| Shares CFDs | Company shares traded as CFDs |
| ETFs | Exchange-traded funds as CFDs |
| Bonds | Bond CFDs |
The broker publishes 1,000+ CFD products across these six classes (its own regional site, read 15 September 2026). The terminal does not create instruments: whatever the broker does not list is unreachable from any platform.
